New Ford Ranger Inventory

What to Expect in the New 2024 Ford Ranger

Ford has completely redesigned its mid-size Ranger pickup for the coming 2024 model year. It's reported that the Ranger will come with the same 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine as the current model. What's more, reports we've heard indicate that a more powerful gas-powered twin-turbo V6 engine will join the lineup and you'll still have your choice of rear- or four-wheel drive. While full details haven't yet been revealed, here's a preview of what you can expect to find when the new 2024 Ford Ranger arrives at Hixon Ford of Leesville in Leesville LA.

Performance Overview

The standard 2024 Ford Ranger is expected to come with the same 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine as the current model. As a result, local buyers will get 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque when teamed up with Ford's 10- speed automatic transmission. That also means this energetic mid-range pickup will have a 7,500-pound towing capacity and a maximum payload of 1,805 pounds.

What's more, Ford is expected to offer the 2024 Ranger with a new 2.7-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine that will be available on higher trims. It will be good for 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and it will still give you up to 7,500 pounds of towing capability. Both engines will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and it's expected that both engines will be available with your choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Technology Highlights

Reports indicate that Ford is enhancing the infotainment system, replacing the 8-inch touch screen from the current model year and making a 10.1-inch infotainment display standard. If you want a screen that's even bigger, you can upgrade to the Ford Ranger's vertically-oriented 12.4-inch touch screen.

In addition, all trims will give buyers a digital gauge display that's either 8 inches or 12.4 inches in size. Smartphone connectivity is now standard for both Apple and Android devices. We expect Ford to offer available extras like satellite radio, in-dash navigation and wireless smartphone charging.

When it comes to safety technology, Ford gives you a standard forward collision warning alert and an automatic emergency braking system to help you avoid getting involved in an accident that's happening in front of you. You can move up to an available blind-spot monitoring system and adaptive cruise control.

Interior design

The 2024 Ford Ranger's cabin is expected to get a more contemporary look with an available digital gauge display and textured dashboard trim. Most of the controls and buttons on the new Ford Ranger have now been digitized and are an integral part of the infotainment system. The interior design will include several new storage solutions including an upper glove compart that's hidden in the dashboard. The new Ranger will also give you bigger door pocket cubbies as well as storage that's located under the rear seat. The Super Crew Cab is expected to be the only body style and that means four full-size doors with seating for up to five.

Exterior and trim levels

On the outside, the Ford Ranger is reported to be delivering a bolder styling approach in the front that's inspired by the legendary Ford F-150. One report indicates that the 2024 Ford Ranger XLT might come with a black appearance package and that will be reinforced by the presence of blacked-out trim that's used throughout the exterior.

The new Ranger for 2024 is expected to come with the same three trim levels as last year's edition, and that means you can choose from the base level XL trim, move up to the SLT, or go with the top-level Lariat trim.
